Employer Spotlight Success Story: Nanicost Ltd. and Judy Councillor

At Nanicost Ltd., we believe that our greatest asset is our people. Judy Councillor’s journey with us exemplifies this commitment and underscores the power of investing in our employees. Judy joined Nanicost Ltd. as a janitor, bringing her positive attitude and strong work ethic to the role. It wasn’t long before her friendly demeanor and dedication caught the attention of both her employers and the tenants of the Nanicost building. Recognizing her potential and eagerness to learn, Judy was offered an additional position as a casual receptionist.

In her new role, Judy continued to impress us with her ability to connect with people and her enthusiasm for her work. Her interactions with employees and tenants were consistently positive, fostering a welcoming and efficient environment. It became clear that Judy had the potential to contribute even more to our team.

Seeing Judy’s potential, we were eager to help her develop her skills further to assist her in her current position as “Executive Assistant”. We encouraged her to apply for the Office Administration Program offered by Shooniyaa Wa-Biitong in collaboration with Confederation College. This 12-week training program was the perfect opportunity for Judy to gain the knowledge and skills needed for career advancement.

Judy was accepted into the program and the comprehensive training she received equipped her with essential administrative skills, preparing her for more advanced roles within our company. This type of training situation is ideal for both the employee and the employer, providing career development and forward-thinking opportunities that benefit everyone involved.

Today, Judy Councillor is an integral part of Nanicost Ltd.’s administrative team. Her journey from janitor to Executive Assistant is a testament to the power of investing in our people. Judy’s story is not just a personal success; it’s a reflection of what’s possible when a company is dedicated to the growth and development of its employees.

If you have existing employees that you would like to train, contact your “Program Officer” to discuss the options.
